The FluentC plugin for WordPress.
Translations are hosted on your own WordPress site, without duplicating pages and posts, and you edit them from inside WordPress. It works with WooCommerce too.
- Translations live
- On your own WordPress site
- Install from
- WordPress.org, FluentC, or Plugins > Add New
- Connect with
- An API key, or the plugin's Connect button
- Requires
- PHP 7.4 or higher (8.2 or higher recommended)
Translations live where your content lives.
FluentC scans your content
Your published pages and posts are scanned and translated.
Translations are saved
The first translation takes a few seconds. Because it's saved, the next time that page is translated it's instant.
You edit inside WordPress
Change any translation from within your WordPress site. The translations are hosted on your own copy of WordPress, without duplicated pages and posts.
Connect your site in one of two ways
In the FluentC dashboard, create a site and set your languages. Then connect WordPress:
- Copy the API key and save it to your site.
- Or click Connect from inside the FluentC plugin.
Full steps are in the setup guide.
Three ways to install.
Download from WordPress.org
Get the plugin from the WordPress.org directory.
Sign up on FluentC and download
Create your FluentC account, then download the plugin directly.
Search inside WordPress
In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New and search for “FluentC”.
Nothing to register. It finds the strings.
Once you select your languages and save your API key, you're set. There's no string registration and no technical setup.
Some content should stay as it is. You can skip translation for specific content.
- Strings, detected automatically. FluentC finds the text on your site, so there's no string registration step.
- Themes and plugins. Built to work with your theme and the plugins you run.
- Dynamic content. Dynamic content is supported, not only static pages.
- Custom post types. Custom post types are supported.
- Menus. Menus are translated.
Works with the plugins you already run.
We have been building in WordPress since 2004, and the plugin is meant to be what WordPress site owners tend to want: simple, quick to set up, and doing what it says.
WooCommerce
Stores use the same plugin. Translating an online store.
Yoast SEO and AISEO
Both are named as compatible. For the search side, see how the plugin keeps multilingual SEO clean.
Most plugins and themes
FluentC is designed to be compatible with most of them. It has been tested on 1000s. Keeping them up to date helps.
Requirements. PHP 7.4 or higher is required. PHP 8.2 or higher is recommended.
The plugin or Domains, side by side.
Choose the plugin if you run WordPress and want translations to live in it. Choose Domains for any other site, or if you'd rather install nothing.

Set it up, step by step.
Set up the WordPress plugin
Install and activate the plugin, enter your API key in FluentC Settings, and add the widget to your template.
Read the guideSkip translation for specific content
Add the no-translate-fluentc comment to leave content in its original language while FluentC still translates your navigation links.
Read the guideSubscribe to FluentC
Pick the WordPress product, enter your site details, choose languages and a language switcher style, then choose annual or monthly billing.
Read the guidePer site, per language.
Prices are per site, per language, shown billed annually. Add any number of languages: the more you add, the less each one costs. Pay annually and get two months free: 10 months' price for twelve, 17% off. Price any number of languages, or see monthly billing.
The same prices as Domains.
What customers say.
“Really good. FluentC team really helped me get setup. The translations are what we needed and the support is something extra that really makes the difference.”
“The translations are great and the setup is so easy. I don't have to think about this problem any more!”
Will it work with my theme and plugins?
FluentC is designed to work with most WordPress plugins and themes, and it has been tested on 1000s of them. Keep your plugins and themes up to date, which helps. If you hit a compatibility problem, contact support. We're happy to help with unusual setups.
Which PHP version do I need?
PHP 7.4 or higher is required. We recommend PHP 8.2 or higher.
Do I need to configure anything after installing?
Once you select your languages and save your API key, you're set. If you'd rather not paste a key, click Connect inside the plugin instead.
How is FluentC different from other translation plugins?
FluentC doesn't duplicate your pages and posts: translations are hosted on your own WordPress site and edited from inside it. Strings are detected automatically, and the price is a flat rate per site, per language. Other tools work differently, so we keep a page of side-by-side comparisons.
What does the plugin cost?
It is priced per site and per language, with unlimited translations: the same price list as Domains. See pricing.
Does it work for sites that aren't on WordPress?
The plugin is for WordPress. FluentC works on other sites too: FluentC Domains handles any website or content on the internet, with no plugin.
Install the plugin.
Create an account, download the plugin, and connect it with your API key.
